the future of the Apple TV →
Best line:
The logical step, it would seem, would be to merge the Apple TV digital receiver into a large LED display and offer an iPod touch-like remote control and Bluetooth keyboard support. Throw in a built-in camera with FaceTime and the world of The Jetsons is one step closer to reality.

digg
Sure, Facebook is positioned to become the new homepage of the web, but I think the new Digg is a solid step in the right direction. It’s ten times easier to use, ten times prettier, and interactive. Quality work Kevin Rose.

my email to Jason Kilar, CEO of Hulu, about Hulu...
Hulu Plus’ announcement got my pretty excited, today. All episodes of current and past seasons of popular shows available in HD on my iPad, iPhone, PS3, and TV for $9.99 is pretty good. Some things, though, are not so good and some things are still up in the air. I emailed Jason Kilar, CEO of Hulu, and asked him about two things that I was confused about (and slightly angry): content...

my email to steve jobs
After reading Matt Buchanan’s article about Mobile Me, iTunes, and the Cloud, I decided to email the overlord. Here’s that email:
Dear Steve, I’m gonna start out by saying this: you’d be hard-pressed to find someone as devoted to your company and your products than myself. I’ve had every iteration of iPhone (and proudly stood in line on launch day for each one) and...

my dream Law and Order: Los Angeles cast
Despite Dick Wolf’s original Law and Order coming to an end, there is a silver lining.
Law and Order: Los Angeles.
The ripped from the headlines cop drama is finally coming to the City of Angels and this guy could not be more happy.
NBC announced they’d be picking up the show for a 13-episode first season, but they didn’t announce the cast. So, with my mother’s...

Parenthood
Usually, I rant about something tech-related or school or even some cool videos. But tonight, I’d just like to praise NBC’s new show Parenthood.
Despite a good, but not great, first episode, Parenthood has quickly become my favorite show on television.
I won’t lie, I’ve had an obsession with the show since the ads started airing and billboards started going up in the...

Jonathan Friedman, 16, a high school student from Los Angeles, said: “It’s awesome. Overwhelming. It’s incredible. Just look at the screen — it’s so clear and perfect. You just touch it and … boom!, there it goes. I shall definitely carry it around more often than my laptop. I’m going to use it to take notes at school. I’m going to use it for everything.” He was supposedly buying the iPad,...

the lack of camera on iPad and why we should've...
We deserve a big smack on the head for expecting Apple to give us everything they’ve got. Quite simply, if the iPad had a camera (front-facing) able to video chat, the world would end because it would be perfect. But see, that product with a front-facing camera is the dream product. The big iPhone 3G rumor was a front-facing camera, and it came again with the 3GS, and again with...
my hopes for "our latest creation" event
the new streaming music service via the cloud (not a subscription service) followed with an announcement of the tablet (I’m fine with the name iPad, I like it more than iSlate which doesn’t roll off the tongue) and to cap it all off a demo of the iPhone 4.0 software (that’s a stretch, and possibly a look at hardware.)
ps: the tablet must have a front facing camera or...
the APE* problem
when reading the APE textbook and realizing that half of the information in it was never taught to us, that’s a problem.
how are we, as students, expected to take quizzes, tests (all leading up to the AP exam) when our teacher hasn’t taught the content to us and doesn’t know how to explain things? textbooks are there to aid our studies and as an underlying basis for them,...
my fourth generation iPhone wishlist
Dear Apple,
Here’s what I’d like (hardware-wise) in a new iPhone:
• a new, better camera with flash
• an OLED screen with a higher resolution
• a front-facing camera (obviously implying video chat)
• 64GB of space•a new case/design that’s not the same as the 3G and 3GS.
• a slightly faster processor (because even the 3GS could be a little better)
and that’s pretty...

calling all teen developers
as you may know, i’ve been dabbling into the dark arts lately. and when I say dark arts, i obviously mean creating projects (internet-based technological software specifically).
from what i’ve divulged in the past, i’ve obviously been working on a news publication for a *long* time. but see, the problem with projects like these is the lack of a *developer*. so, i was on the hunt...

having a desk is essential.
this past weekend, I decided to do something I should’ve done this same time last year.
backstory: last september, i decided I needed to redo my room. my bed was too small, my desk too small; thus, redo. so I went out and got a new (bigger) bed, and a new sleek, more modern (bigger) desk. wanting the comfort, I set up my new bed immediately. and boy was/is it comfortable. but the desk, I...

the Open draw
not so sure how I feel about this draw. you’ve *possibly* got Roddick v Federer / Murray v Nadal semi match ups. I’d love to see an Andy v Andy finals match, but I would’ve killed for a Roddick v Federer final, the excitement level would’ve been insane.
no matter. it’s still Roddick’s time.

the problem with summer
it’s not long enough.
some kids go back to school and are really excited. some kids go back to school and hate it.
I got on campus today for my first official day of school, and I was unimpressed. sure, my teachers are great, the classes are all more discussion based, but I’m just not interested.
last year, I remember my first day vividly. as a freshman with a big agenda, I was...

before I completely rip apart something I love, let me just say this. I am a total and complete Apple fanboy. I’ve had a Mac ever since I have actually used a computer for a purpose other than playing Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt (if you aren’t aware of those two incredible kids video games, go play them, they were my childhood,) I’ve had at least five iPods (all different type), and...

great TechCrunch piece on the Mac vs PC. →
basically, of all computers over $1000, 9 out of 10 people buy Macs. Sure, if you want a cheap computer, you’re not gonna buy a Mac (that’s why Macs are less than 10% of the computer market share). But if you want a nice one, or a quote *PREMIUM* computer, you get a Mac.
